5.0 classic | bobafe6604 | February 17th 10 | "Forget and Not Slow Down" is what "mature" pop punk should be - heartfelt, dense, catchy, and brutally honest, Relient K are back with a vengeance and a lazer-honed purpose. The album flows oh so well, interspersing intro and outros into the tracklist. The instrumentation isn't mathy, prog, or even incredibly original... but that isn't pop punk. Great pop punk instrumentation propels the lyrics along instead of bogging it down with tricks and unnecessary bullshit. You can tell that on this record (due to lost love and solitude), Relient K have seceded any dreams of wowing us with bells and whistles. And thats the beauty of it. I vote this the best "hopeful" break up record of all time - a tour de force of emotions and many layers of melodic and harmonic instrumentation. Check this out if you enjoy substance in your lyrics and well-constructed pop punk trappings.

4.0 excellent | Wildcatforever | October 25th 09 | A very catchy and mature album for Relient K. The album is actually somewhat original lyrically and instrumentally which helps separates this from their previous albums. Also this is more of a cohesive album, where their previous albums just sounded like eleven or twelve half hearted attempts to get on the charts. They take on serious issues lyrically, the instrumental work is better, and this leads to a dramatically improvement from Relient K.

4.0 excellent | Darkhyperchaos | January 14th 11 | By far Relient K's best album to date. Almost everything about it is matured from their previous albums. The guitars sound clearer, the vocals sound better, and the lyrics are also serious this time around, which is a huge plus. Overall, the album is a great catchy album, that comes across as a lot more mature than their older releases. Anyone who passed over Relient K before because they were just an inexperienced pop punk band should definitely give this album a try.

4.5 superb | jimmy24795 | May 12th 12 | The perfect breakup album, putting to death (slightly) the impression that Relient K is an annoyingly happy band. Despite the positive outlook, there are certainly depressing moments throughout the album. Highlights include Part Of It, and Sahara

5.0 classic | beezycareezy | August 10th 10 | To me, this album is absolutely flawless. Relient k has done what most bands haven't accomplished for me; they created a record that keeps me interested and compelled throughout all of it's lovable tracks and transitions.

4.0 excellent | TheMabee | April 5th 10 | Relient K the pop, punk, sca, band is back with another effort after a way to long The Bird and Bee Side album, in which they need to take there own advice less is more. Fortunately Matt Theiessen is back with a brand new bag of tricks with everything from great guest appearances to amazing moving lines, and heart felt lyrics. If you have never been in love and have never had your heart broken maybe this album is not for you, but for those that have experienced heart break you will fall in love with this album. This album provides you with the pain of what its like and also how to move on. Such lyrics like " I don't need a soul without you i'm still whole you and life remain beautiful", and "if a nightmare ever does unfold perspective is a lovely hand to hold". Matt's writing is deep and also can draw many parallels to any of those who have been in the same situation.
Songs like "Forget and Not Slow Down" will have you singing along while songs like "Savannah" and "Candlelight" will immediately fill your mind of the person you love or give you hope of a future love. Songs like "Therapy" and "Over It" wiil immediately put you in a good mood whenever you are sad. This is truely the greatest thing about this album is how it discusses hardships and how to overcome then. When you put in this album a smile will come across your face even when you don't want it to. I also love the guests on this album with him getting Aaron Gillespie from the Almost and Adam Young from Owl City. My only compaint about this album is some of the lame filler intro ballads that are just really short and pointless. This album is a great album and is Relient K's second best album in my opinion. Pick up this album if you are going through a hard time and need a smile.
