It's been years since Hip-Hop have given their fans a solid classic album. I was just about to give up because of the terrible industry. However just when it seamed that there was no hope left Raekwon gave us an album that showed that at least one artist cared about the fans and gave us a classic.The First thing you can notice about this album on every track is the Production. With names from Dr. Dre to J Dilla (R.I.P.) and of course The RZA. The beats are hard for 21 of the 22 tracks. The features where also great with Johnny Blaze (Meth), Tony Starks (Ghost), Rollie Fingers (Masta Killah), and non Wu members like Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, and Styles P. It is a album that you can listen from start to finish and want to do it over and over again. Great Production, Superb Lyrics, Killer features, and Low on skits; these all make a classic album. And this album isn't quite a perfect fit to my brain but to my heart it is and I trust my heart. And I hope you do to and buy this classic sequel.

Man...I remember the first time I heard that pulsating beat on "House of Flying Daggers," and how amazed I was that such a
repetitive beat could be so catchy, and how impressed I was at Method Man's verse. Even more, I remember how good it felt to
actually be into a new hip-hop album. Back then, it seemed to me that hip-hop truly was dead--five years and MAYBE as many
quality albums to how for it in that time. Then this dropped, with damn near the whole Wu in on it, and its dark production,
slick rhymes, oozing attitude and atmosphere, and I was enraptured. Every time I listened to it, I lost myself in the world it
described, sat entranced as the Chef cooked up some heavy ass rhymes, and had that wonderful feeling, even then, that this
album would be something much, much more than simply really fucking good. I felt like, for the first time in a good LONG time,
rap may just be redeemed; that maybe, MAYBE, there may be some life left for hip-hop outside of the backpack.
And who better to do it than the Wu-Tang Clan? If anyone genre needed a boon, it's hip-hop; if any city needed a revival, it's
New York; if any group needed a new lease on life, it's the Wu; and if any rapper deserved to turn hip-hop back on its head,
it's Raekwon. And his album, 'OB4CL II', which stands currently as the hip-hop album I've listened to more than any other in my
life, is exactly what all of them, and myself, needed.

Holy smokes, this album killed. And to think I was losing faith in the Wu because of their recent releases. Best of their albums since Supreme Clientele (Ghostface).

A more than worthy succesor to it's predecessor, Cuban Linx II boasts fantastic beats and production by J Dilla, RZA and Dr Dre, excellent lyrics and revitalised performances by Rae and the rest of the Wu. All of which ensure that the album packs a punch and does not tire over its 24 track course and contains enough hooks to last a fisherman a lifetime.

Cuban Linx II is the best Wu joint in years. Not only does it show off Rae and Co. at the top of their game, it features a wide range of A-List producers (J-Dilla, Dre, RZA, Necro, BT, and more) showing off their best beats.

OB4CL2 is an album that never could have possibly lived up to the hype around it, and pales in comparison to it's predecessor. While the original didn't necessarily establish any new subject matter, it's the way said topics were discussed that made it so unique, and that it strongly lacking in the sequel. Some of Rae's lyrics are more mature, but he sounds tired in some songs, and the lyrics are far more direct than his puzzling but deep lyricism in the original. There is a dream team of producers on here, and there are some really strong beats, but there is a hit or miss factor to some, and they lack the depth of RZA's grand vision for OB4CL. Some of the vocal samples are poorly inserted and sound horrible (see Fat Lady Sings). There are plenty of solid tracks, but none of the jaw-dropping moments found on all of the Wu's true classic record. Ghostface is the true star of this album, much like the original, as he is really the only Wu member still injecting so much description and energy into his verses. I do think this record was effective in bringing back a more hip-hop oriented approach to making records, and brought up alot of people's frustration with the ringtone rap of the time. I think it inspired the newer 2010's generation of more content heavy rap albums, and it's probably the last Wu album worth a listen, but there just isn't enough standout material for it to hold a candle to the record it's supposed to be a sequel of.
