| 3.5 great | zakalwe | May 21st 22 | More banal, soulless rock without any sense of organic creativity that will undoubtedly be a 4 because there is nothing else in this hollow digital vacuum called the 21st century that offers an escape

| 4.0 excellent | Benjamin Kuettel EMERITUS | June 22nd 22 | The long awaited return of Porcupine Tree has finally come, and the band haven't missed a step during their long hiatus. This isn't to say there's anything quite as mind-blowing as their best work however; C/C essentially comes across like seven random new songs in the vein of Nil Recurring and The Incident without much of a change. There is virtually no influence of frontman Steven Wilson's solo career, even his latest work (thankfully), and sounds like it could have easily been released a decade ago. The standout players are Gavin Harrison on drums, one of the all time greats, and Richard Barbieri's keyboard work. No surprise that the longest and most complex pieces, "Harridan," "Dignity," and "Chimera's Wreck" happened to be the standout tracks. C/C isn't groundbreaking, but it sees one of the finest British rock bands return in solid form and show their influences how it's done.

| 2.9 good | Erwann S. EMERITUS | August 26th 22 | Woah prog! While definitely a good album, C/C ultimately is a pretty fine prog record that just makes you want to listen to previous Porcupine Tree albums.

| 3.5 great | ajcollins15 | June 30th 22 | Don?t get me wrong I am very excited for the comeback of the somewhat legendary prog rock band porcupine trees, but there is something so obvious about this album that it?s hard not to just sit there listening to it and thinking, wow this just sounds like a rockier version of what Steven Wilson has been doing with his solo work. But then you go back through their catalog and say wow this also just sounds like everything they had been doing before they disbanded. So overall I think it?s a fine and interesting rock album that is progy and artsy all at the same time, but it doesn?t exactly hold up in today's day and age when you really give it a full listen.

| 3.5 great | XSebbyMcMuffinX | June 30th 22 | "It's not as good as most of their other stuff, but it sure is excellent!" They're functioning. It's a comeback. It's solid. Some bits sound fresh (for them). Some bits sound exactly like what you'd expect from a PT record. I'm personally less a fan of the familiar, which may not entirely be because of my taste. That's all I'll get into.

| 4.5 superb | mobman47 | June 24th 22 | I honestly wasn't expecting much because I've been pretty lukewarm to Steven Wilson's solo output for a while now, but god damn. This album feels like an evolution from their previous work and I think it's strong front to back. Each song feels very well put together, showcases a variety of styles, has distinct highlight moments, and also just has that Porcupine Tree style that makes it unique to them.

| 4.0 excellent | masterofreality | June 24th 22 | One of the better reunion/reformation albums released in a long time. This album really kicks ass. I?d say I like it more than a decent amount of the prior discography. It?s doesn?t surpass their titanic albums, but Porcupine Tree still has ?it? after all of these years. That alone makes this worth a purchase.

| 4.0 excellent | KrillBoi | June 24th 22 | How boring "Of the New Day" was (by far the worst track here) had me worried for a moment that this was gonna suck but this is a great return of one of my favourite bands of all time. As others have said it doesn't break any new ground but I am very happy with the result.

| 4.0 excellent | cageofman | June 24th 22 | Disagree BK, i think it has his solo work influence over most of it, however its still also very PTree. I think its a cross between Raven Rufused to Sing meets Nil Recurring. Not my final rating but with early listens so far its really quite cool. Also the bonus track Never Have i think is very SW solo ish, reminds me of the pin drop a lot
