Much as parts of their debut were generic and cheesy, there was a naivety to Boys Like Girls that seemed to hit home; there is nothing of the sort here. Newly aware of what it takes to appeal to the masses, they over-use every cliche of pop-punk songwriting to a grating extent. Auto-tune vocals, ridiculous electronics and a dance-oriented feel do nothing to save it, instead making it feel like a Go:Audio rip-off; read my review of THEIR debut to see how I feel about that comparison. But truly, honestly, there's nothing to save this, not even a Taylor Swift cameo on the corny-as-f**k Two Is Better Than One, and certainly not the tacked on 'other versions' of what was a mediocre song in the first place and fares no better as an acoustic or a Mark Hoppus remix. There are good pop-rock songs like Contagious, but they never hit the heights of The Great Escape or Hero/Heroine; they just make the album slightly more tolerable, and are at their best on a par with All Time Low's decent efforts. "I wish that I could turn this car around," is about right. Much as they were never the most artistic of bands, this is what selling out actually sounds like.

Boys Like Girls used to be a decent band, but this CD has made a turn for the worse. Most of these songs are overplayed and have beats that you would typically find among amateur boy bands. Pick yourselves up, guys.

This is a formula that has been done over and over again, so this is some major dead weight on this band already. Throw in overproduction that would make Axl Rose gag (lol Chinese Democracy jokes) and you've got one downright dead album. I could give them a break if this band at least sounded earnest, or even interested, but they just sound like they're searching for a paycheck, and that's all.

Very average pop-punk that rarely feels like any improvement over their self titled debut. Though they can manage to get Taylor Swift for a duet in Two Is Better Than One, this is just repetitive pop punk.

Love Drunk brings Boys Like Girls to a whole new level of stupidity, words can't even begin to describe the horrible taste this left in my mouth just a few short songs in.
