I love that the album sounds modern but never at any point listening to it did I think it sounded like some old geezers trying to sound fresh. It sounds like a Tears for Fears album in 2022 and I think that's all anyone could ask for. Not to mention they hadn't lost their ear for solid vocal/instrumental hooks and Roland's vocals have not aged a day. A rare comeback album that'll equally appease both older, long time fans and newer, younger fans alike.r

More than just a legacy act putting out a record for the sake of putting out a new record. "Rivers
of Mercy" might be one of the best songs they've done since The Seeds of Love.

This is unexpectedly good. I was ready to dislike it out of hand but this is a really good TFF album. A nice mix of 80's pop sound and modern songwriting. Well done!

I see why Tears for Fears wanted an album at this time. This has been in the works for many years and reflects on just that: the passing of time. What have you done with your life? What is your legacy after you leave? How do you deal with loss and passing generally, be it of abstract concepts like time and fame or very real passings of people in your life? And the band is now in a state of self-reflection and maturity, where they can ask and answer these questions from experience. But they unfortunately wrap it up in such a milquetoast musical setting that it reduces any meaningful take away. I constantly felt dragged into some storm of creative difference and production process that took too long.

the title track is quite decent but all the other songs are either dull and boring or just plain
bad. very disappointing effort especially considering what roland was capable of in the past.
almost feels like all the other people in here have heard a whole different album
