| 3.0 good | jredmond | September 13th 09 | Arrived in the mail yesterday, watched it last night. Now, if you've watched any other DVD performances recently released (BtBaM's Colors, Coheed's Neverender, Jeff Buckley's Grace or Thrice's House of Blues) the first thing you'll notice is Protest's obvious budget constraints. This is brutally exemplified through the amateur editing job. Right off the bat I found myself wishing each shot was a bit longer. The editing is extremely spastic - perhaps in an effort to mimic Protest's musical style - and there are some terribly cheesy shot transitions. Another critical flaw is the lighting. You can't see Luke or Tim's fretboard for a good portion of the shred shots, which surprised me because it's probably the band's strongest and easiest quality to showcase. Other than that, the performance in itself is great. Everyone's on their top game and Rody puts on an entertaining show in between songs. The mixing is pretty solid as well, although the bass could be a bit more noticeable. I won't spoil it for anyone who hasnt watched it yet, but the ending of Palms Read is the clear highlight of the entire DVD.
The bonus footage on the dvd is pretty entertaining whether it's a chronicle of the band's Wake and Funnel tradition, or a quick snipit of Luke and Tim practicing guitar; in general the extra footage is somewhat redeeming.

| 0.0 | ButcheredChildren | October 5th 10 | Poor recording quality and a weak set-list makes this live album/dvd very hard to appreciate. Only true protest the hero fans could love this ammature release. Others who merely enjoy PTH like myself, can only extract several tracks from the album which are reasonably audible and watch the video if my life solely depended on it.

| 3.0 good | Klekticist | May 4th 10 | Throughly disappointing. Poor lighting, poor setlist, poor performance from Rody. (Along with some extremely awkward stage banter) Shame, this could've been a lot better.

| 4.0 excellent | TheBloodTypo | March 15th 10 | People forgot why they go to live shows. I personally don't attend because so many bands play it just like the album I could've saved money staying home and listening to. Gallop Meets the Earth, while off at times, gets the overall effect of a live show down pretty well, and delivers like it should.
