Man oh man, now THIS is more like it. Always thought these guys were overly derivative but had a lot of potential and here's the reward for my patience: moving to a more melodic and dynamic sound has done wonders for the band, making use of well-placed cleans that are anything but generic and more space between soaring alt-flavored post-metal and their brand of blackgaze means both aspects leave more of an impact than before. This is a big winner.

This is the best blackgaze album since SUN BAT HER (which it also gives a run for the money). Absolutely
incredible and irrefutably transcendent.

It is... enjoyable. At first I thought this is something like listening to Sunbather and New Bermuda together, but in the end the satisfaction factor was a bit dulled. Diorama is a really well-played blackgaze album without sounding the exact same way like most other bands do. It offers a good listen, but it didn't affect me so much.
