We all know that black metal is supposed to have horrible recording quality but this album
is just bad in terms of recording quality, which made all the songs have little variation.
Now this is of course was the first MayheM demo to come out, so what can people expect.
MayheM is still awesome.

Look, I get why this is appreciated. Mayhem has a legendary status, but does anyone actually listens to the music on this demo?rThe stuff here is barely audible. This is not even the typical sewer production of an early 2nd wave black metal album. This is just pure inaudible. Whatever frigging musical quality this might have had it all goes down the drain because the production is in shambles.rI respect Mayhem for what it would represent later on, but this demo pretty much shows some guys in their late teens having no clue about playing an instrument and no clue about studio recording. Amateur work.

The production quality on this demo is so terrible, that it completely kills the whole thing. Even if it featured a great song, it would still be crap with this sound. I swear, that if I had a batteries-run tape recorder with batteries running out, a crumpled tape wet with dog's piss and the cheapest microphone, that can't record any frequencies higher than 1000 Hz, and used this equipement to record the band rehearsing in the next room, through thick walls and locked door, I'd get better results, than this. There's a difference between raw, lo-fi production and just completely shitty sound and this demo is prime example of latter.

So Necro and Euronymous also shared vox duties on this? Wish I knew which songs they were on. At least the quality isn't as bad as Dawn of The Black Hearts. Or they're probably on the same level whatever, I guess this extreme level of bad is an aquired taste
