Lives up to the hype with ease! Great lyrical content, there's no shortage of real horror stories out there metal bands can write and reflect on and often they're overlooked, but not here. Elephantine, full, blackened and dark, the music matches the provocative album art.

Instrumentally this is some pretty great blackened death, but reading the lyrics is a must in order to fully feel the effect of this album. Atmospheric and cinematic.

Yeah, they sing about war and throw in some samples, big whoop. The music and composition is standard-fare. Not feeling the hype.

The production and technicality takes a step up, but at the cost of the atmosphere that made The Blind Leading The Blind so great, and the lyricism starts to feel more ham-fisted than literal. Great moments are still to be had, like the horns on Corps D'autos-Canons-Mittrailleuse (a.c.m), but they are fewer and further between. Still a decent listen, but a far cry from the experience of the previous.

pretty epic blackened death/doom. a highlight in tread but nothing bad at all. just the vox aren't the greatest and a deeper more powerful growl would have suited this better
