originally had this at a 3.5, but the more i listen to it and get the full effect of the meaning they put into their music, the more i love it. fucking fantastic album.

Very interesting band. They do a lot of things right: great guitar work, excellent drumming, passionate playing, and interesting song structure. However, the vocals completely ruin it for me. The screamed vocals of their "singer" have absolutely no dynamics. They're also quite unpleasant to my ears. It's sounds like someone is stabbing an innocent monkey and the monkey is crying, "Oh calamitous fate! Why have I deserved such agony?" Not something I'd like to listen to for 2 minutes, let alone for an entire album. I'd like this a lot more with a different frontman.

"Old Pride" is the album that totally shaped the Emo/Screamo character of the last decade. All the elements that have been chosen to shape this work are still present in songs from other bands, but you can see that before them this didn't exist the way it is. Pianos Become the Teeth is a very interesting band, and i really enjoy revisiting them, both to compare with the current scenario, and to resurface a sense of nostalgia in myself.
