Amazing album. Petrucci weaves through moods and emotions, but does so while staying steadfast in the same overarching tonality. Some highlights include Jaws of Life, the closer and Damage Control, but everything on here is mostly solid. Insane guitar-acrobatics as well.

From the legend that is John Petrucci, Suspended Animation marks the fantastic solo debut. From heavy songs like Jaws of Life to the folk feel of Glasgow Kiss (that intro is amazing), this album never feels old or feels like it is overstaying its welcome. Hopefully, Petrucci will release another solo album.

John Petrucci is an amazing guitarist and this is an amazing album. A few lyrics could have been nice, but when this is mostly petrucci showing off his guitar awesomeness i soon forgot about the absence of lyrics

Very memorable tracks here, not just a shred-fest with no point to it. There are often chorus parts which get repeated and get better every time. And it certainly *sounds* like John P; nowhere else does his signature sound shine through better.

To speak the truth, I have only bought the album the other day. But my first reaction was amazement.
John Petrucci, the Guitarist and one of the writers for Progressive Metal legends, Dream Theater, releasing his own solo album of this magnitude. The Stylings of the John from Dream Theater, a distant haze from this work. This takes his capability to a whole new level.
Different Styles can be overviewed and enjoyed, just by listening to the album itself, spanning from traditional celtic to a hard and heavy but still quite techinical. I have listened to many artists this combination and failling in the process.
In my opinion, tracks like "Jaws Of Life" and "Glasgow Kiss," should be regarded as musical materpiecees by the public and artists alike, aswell as tracks like "Curve."
John Petrucci as a player, as an artist and with his work for Dream Theater, should be considered a key influence for any person wishing to start playing the guitar. Tracks like "Glasgow Kiss" and Dream Theaters "Stream Of Conciousness," off Train Of Thought, are just bursting with Inspiration and Passion.
A supreme guitar player and writer, and a musical Legend in the making.
