4.0 excellent | WompState | September 3rd 22 | Man, tough one to rank. Dave is such a talent, you gotta love it, but my man falls victims to the same pitfalls as on Psychodrama. The highs of this record are high, and the lows are the same self indulgent lows, but it still goes hard. When Dave's on, he's on, and when he's off, he's very much off. The next record gonna be the one I think. Cut the fat. Ditch the monologues. No more nine minute tracks. No more shitty features. Let's go Dave. Quality in, quality out. rSome weak moments here, but you're crazy if you don't see the talent on display. Can't say there's every been a rapper quite like this, can't say there will ever be one after, weaknesses and all.

3.5 great | Erwann S. STAFF | September 21st 21 | this ain't straight-up drill lmfao. There are drill beats, but also afrobeats-inspired ones, as well as three James Blake cuts - aight. It's when Dave mixes his personal thoughts with societal observations that he's upping what Psychodrama hinted at. It does feel like the kind of record tailored for mainstream success and Brit/Mercury nominations, but it's done with care and soul. Good job.

2.0 poor | CriterionCollector | August 12th 21 | The most bland and basic drill album ever made. Dave goes on about how this is his biggest achievement, good christ.
