1.5 very poor | olisz | September 25th 21 | Ten years ago this was my favourite band. Still I wasn't expecting much of this release, as those times are long over, but yet it managed to dissapoint. The mix sounds consistently awful, basically every chorus is a complete mess sonically. The first 50 seconds of the record would actually fit on Corey Feldman's Angelic 2 the Core. Tom's vocals also aren't great, and so is the songwriting on most tracks. For me, one of the wort albums of the year.

2.0 poor | GhostShelter | September 19th 21 | Aside from Kiss&Tell, this is trash. They?ve fallen a long way from their earlier work.

1.5 very poor | vinniechase | October 8th 21 | It's mind-boggling that there are so many positive reviews for this album. I can't remember the last time I had to skip every single song on an album 30-60 seconds into each one. Not sure if everyone accidentally listened to an early Blink album instead of this one because I've never seen so many positive reviews for such a terrible album. I don't know what else to say about this but Sputnik said my review was too short with just the first three sentences, so I have to drag this out...Tom feels he has to use some sort of keyboard or synth in basically every song, none of the songs are memorable or stand out from each other, No More Guns is just a boring surfy-rock track, Timebomb is one of the worst songs I've ever heard, Rebel Girl still sucks, Tom loves calling women "pretty girl" or "little girl" in his lyrics, Restless Souls actually isn't terrible because there's elements that remind me of the Blink 'Neighbourhoods' album, but other than that, I'll never listen to a song on this album again unless it shows up in a show or movie I'm watching, which is highly doubtful unless it's a To The Stars production.

4.0 excellent | AmbushReality | September 24th 21 | Some of the songs here make me wonder what blink-182 would sound like in 2021 if Tom stayed and kept progressing the band following *Neighborhoods*, rather than Mark taking the reigns and resorting to reverting back to the familiar, outdated teenage vibes of the early 00's. *Lifeforms* is a logical step up from *Dream Walker* and the two EPs that followed, and further solidifies Tom as a prolific songwriter. Though a few songs wear their influences proudly on their sleeves (Depeche Mode on "Spellbound" and The Cure's "Friday I'm In Love" on "Automatic"), the album is as cohesive a journey as any Angels & Airwaves record has been yet. Worth the 7-year wait, and the odd release timeline (Rise records wtf? a new single every month leaving only 4 songs unheard).

3.8 excellent | Trey STAFF | November 30th 21 | I love (present tense) Blink-182 and everything they've done. I even like +44, and Boxcar Racer (to a lesser extent). The band I've never really managed to truly appreciate was Angels and Airwaves. I read what Tom wanted us to believe he was releasing, but his ambitions never reached what was actually laid down on the album... until now. This is the album I believe Tom has been hearing in his head for years. It's spacey and atmospheric, proggy and weird, and catchy as fuck. Whatever the Aliens have been injecting into Tom's booty-hole is finally working.

3.0 good | charlopiano | August 21st 21 | After a while, A&A albums start getting really a lot of the same to me, and get worse the further I'm in it, because the songs kinda all are the same, but a 5-song EP, works pretty good.

4.0 excellent | tinathefatlard | June 21st 21 | Restless Souls, the only unreleased track sounds like the verses from One Last Thing with the chorus of Dry Your Eyes. However, the sound remains as atmospheric and uplifting as ever.
