Very good deathcore. I wished there would be more stuff like this. They aren't always fucking around, but when they do, they don't fuck around. *trollface* Yes it's brutal and I dont know whether its wannabe brutal but the fact that this is brutal doesn't change. And the breakdowns are really sick and better than the average stuff.

This album will no doubt be remembered as a metal classic; with it's technical guitar-work, varied volcal performance and excellent basslines; not to mention the deep, insightful lyrics and tasteful album artwork. A true classic of the...I can't do this, fuck it. [2]

Not sure how this has a better rating than "Desolation of Eden" or a 2.8 at all for that matter. They aren't as bad as say, Waking the Cadaver, but they give them a hell of a run for their money. Awful, awful album - even the breakdowns suck

I don't care what anyone says, this EP snaps hard. Still nothing on the level of Thy Art Is Murder, but it doesn't leave anything to be desired in the way of being heavy. That is also its biggest drawback though

The appeal for this particular EP would perhaps be its' objectively horrendous nature that I
found to be bloody hilarious and comedic, as such would be it's overabundance of breakdowns,
the usage of auditory sampling (Lights Out. It's Boner Time.), sweep picking that exists for
the mere purpose of marring the amount of chugging found within, among other subjective
critiques. Greatly towards my surprise, the song Crewcabanger is quite memorable.

The inhales severely ruin whatever credit I was about to give Chelsea Grin's debut EP release. That, and what these guys are utilizing here have been executed about a trillion times in the past; it's virtually akin to the MySpace realm all over again.

Ironically named after a method of torture, Utah deathcore act Chelsea Grin aren't exactly a pleasant listen on their self-titled debut EP. With all 5 tracks here sounding like one endless breakdown, diversity is not high on the agenda. Vocals consist of horrid pig squeals & cookie monster growls, both of which are unintelligible. And the less said about the violent & misogynist lyrics, the better. There are flashes of potential in the dual guitar work, but the young quintet seem to intentionally steer away from expanding on these moments. Even at just 14 minutes in length, this is a chore to sit through. Recommended Tracks: Crewcabanger & Cheyne Stokes.
