Dark-Day's is sort of a step up from the first 2 albums as their is not song that sticks out as cringe inducing. However "Dark Days" was made in a time where the band hated each other, and unlike other albums with this sinaro like "IOWA" the album as a whole suffers a lot from this and as a result. also Dez's lyrics are stupid and cheesy but that is a staple of the band and part of their aesthetic so i will not neg him for that. However I can neg him for being a songwriter with no variety.

Coal Chamber went on a path which led them to become one of the darker nu metal groups at the time, at the expense of featuring little thought within the songwriting process and goofy lyricism. Their third studio album Dark Days is more or less no different compared to the band's two precursors, though every now and then, it *is* fun to jam. Much of the instrumentation is middling, but sets this record's tone well.

Just listened to this album for the first time in a very long while. I remember this album being one of my favorite when I was 13, I can clearly see why though. This is not a very solid recording, but an incredibly catchy and groovy one. Almost every song is destined to stay quickly in your mind. And I can still have fun while rocking out to some tunes like "Fiend", "One Step", "Alienate Me", and "Beckoned". The lyrics suck ass, though... Really crappy lyrics. I think the goal behind those ridiculous lyrics is to be so ridiculous, you'll hardly forget them.
