The hi-hat makes my ears bleed.
This is, for the most part, an inoffensive iteration of shoegaze that will undoubtedly blow
up because of #aesthetics

wow, didn't know that Sputnikmusic was just way too cool to enjoy this album. I guess it just doesn't compare to the likes of the new Iron Maiden and BTB&M albums

I want to like this... I really do... I like the direction a lot of the music is coming from production-wise.... all but the drums. I expect a hazy, dreamy feeling from my shoegaze, and I'm not averse to experimentation/innovation, but that high-hat is like ALL peak. I almost question if someone had some issues with their software and just said "fuck it"...

Though it gets kind of boring from time to time, I really liked the album. It has an eccentric vibe which I cannot explain, but feels familiar. Dreamlike, eh?

Lotta cool ideas, and the lo-fi bedroom sadboi aesthetic makes for a real zeitgeist-y sound. However, Parannoul's prominent aesthetic can't hide the songs' lack of construction. Cool sounds succeed to cool sounds, but few tracks here feel like proper songs - the gargantuan "White Ceiling" being a noteworthy exception -, resembling more like a collage of moods and sounds.

This wore me down, but not because I guessed what the subject matter was about. It's just too
relentless. The story is interesting and there are good moments, but it doesn't feel like any
editing happened here.

Man did I want to love this record. From the opening shoegaze guitar riffs to the hazy vocals, and building piano there is something so warm and sunny about this album. However, as this album goes on it becomes very apparent how blotted this record is. The post-rock passages do not really add anything to this album other than to be a rather tedious build to something that really never comes. Although there is still something here to hopefully look forward to in the future.
