1st song off the album, lyrics and riffs, are a rip off from a few Bad Religion songs, Atomic Garden / Punk Rock Song and Streets of America sped up. Hassan Chop is early Vandals/Offspring, and actually good. The rest is painfully bland generic Post Americana Offspring. Oh and the vocals on Gone Away, sooooo bad.

This long-awaited 10th studio release arrives after the departure of bassist Greg K., the last founding member next to Dexter. One would suggest that the album's poor quality had something to do with this. Opening track 'This is Not Utopia' finds Dexter delivering a strange, worn out, vocal performance. Following that one is the title-track with the typical energy but on top of Dexter's weird vocals, there is a considerable high wall of compression. Unfortunately, this is compression is all over the album and Bob Rock is responsible for this abominable result. 'Coming for You', 'The Opioid Diaries' and 'Hassan Chop' are the more traditional-sounding Offspring tracks where you can hear Dexter?s signature vocal work. Still though, there?s something so damn off about them. 'Behind Your Walls' and 'Army of One' display some of The Offspring?s more revered aspects, but considering the back catalogue, these are hardly top-tier tunes. 'In the Hall of the Mountain King' is an arbitrary cover with absolutely no point of inclusion here. Gone Away' is a beautiful albeit pointless piano version of an older song and 'Lullaby' is a cheap outro with little consequence. Let the Bad Times Roll is the weakest album The Offspring have ever made. Recommendations: "Behind Your Walls", "Coming For You", "Hassan Chop", "Gone Away"

Put this on again as a pre-cursor to the new album. I still think it's pretty decent and a fair bit of fun, although can totally appreciate the flaws this thing has. Strip out the crap (We Never have Sex Anymore, In The Hall... & Lullaby) and you're left with a pretty tight, 9 track selection. However, what's left is also sub-28 minutes which is very lean for a full LP, particularly for one 9 years in the making. Couple that with one song being a 6-year old (at the time) single and another being a re-make of an older song and you're not left with much new material.
I think this would have landed pretty well if it had better production and was released as a 6/7-track EP. But they added some filler and let Bob Rock fly the plane...so here we are.

there's like only three good songs on here, and honestly one of them just sounds like an above-average fall out boy song. the production sucks, everything is over-compressed to hell and blend together into a singular, amorphous mix. dexter still sounds surprisingly good in spite of the occasionally obvious bit of autotune. songwriting sucks throughout, it feels like they're barely even trying anymore. i know these guys are getting on in years but that's no excuse. 2/5

Such a disappointment. I enjoyed Days go By as it had some good hard tracks, but this felt so lazy. Hassan Chop was good. The opener was alright. Everything else sucked. The auto tune disaster of Gone Away left a bad taste in my mouth.

We Never Have Sex Anymore is literally the worst Offspring song to date. Not even close, honestly. Hassan Chop riff is a rCool to Hate rip off. What the fuck is In the Hall of the Mountain King? And to top it all off, Gone Away is literally here just rto fill a spot. Beyond that, the rest is just mediocre at best. I expected it to be at least a little better than this.

Though the two lead-in singles are by far the worst the album has to offer, it's peaks never get much higher than the filler of previous albums. It's exactly what you expect it to be, with a shitty piano version of Gone Away to top it off. Nothing special.
