I had never heard of this band four hours ago, but have now read like 20 articles about them and I think they're my new favorite band. I should probably listen to their music at some point too.

I like this alot. Well, for maybe a month. I dunno, maybe because of how solid the singles were, there was a lot of space. Then the album dropped; I've maybe ran through it twice??rIt's good, it's just not as vast as Only Love and as groovy as Untitled.

Sounds like a continuation of Only Love but with improved production and a tighter focus. It's chaotic and heavy, and yet somehow still catchy. Starting this off with a 4.5 and see how it sticks!

Silly me to think this would be a pop album. It starts out as a very interesting punk sound, then repeats that same thing in every song, making it very repetitive by the end.

This is some of the most difficult to stomach and abrasive production of the year. Not really due to its heaviness, but the fact that it is just a mess. I guess it works, because I enjoyed it in the end, but jesus if they will only be accelerating their fuzz levels in the future, we'll see the day they turn into just straight harsh noise wall act.

Where to even begin with this record. I have had to listen to this over and over again just to get a grasp on what I feel about it and I have concluded that it is a great listen from front to back, however, the production leaves me scratching my head. For example, the intro track ?Ultrapop? is a grand and explosive way to introduce the record, however, it sticks out like a sore thumb to the rest of the record because it is the only real noise pop/synthpop song on the record. From there ?All Futures? is a post-hardcore and art punk rager with a nice balance between noise and cohesiveness. While on ?Real Folk Blues? all the instruments are so compressed there is no breathing room for anything and half the times the vocals are so overtaken by the walling guitar it can be annoying. Still the post-hardcore and math rock bangers of ?An Iteration?, ?Average Death?, and ?Faith in Medication? really bring life to this record.

Ok I had never heard of them, but this gloubiboulga of noise, hardcore, and pop works to give you tinnitus as well as chills, even if their melodies are buried under 10 tons of nasty distortion. I did find the production to be a tad too muffled to my taste tho (salut Kurt). 3.7 Edit: listening to the Adult Swim live makes me wish for a remaster of this.

I love Kurt Ballou, but why are all The Armed mixes so unintelligible? I understand the whole "wall of sound" thing, but this album is painful to listen to. It's a shame, because it sounds like there's interesting music under there
