This album far exceeded my expectations. The sound Porter cultivated for himself here is amazing.

At this point, I can't judge this album properly.
I associate so many friendships, so much excitement, so many laughs and so much more with this album. This album brought me together with so many people and I can't thank it enough. So much has changed and I don't think my life would be as good as it is if this album didn't get announced when it did. The wait for this album was truly one of the most important events in my life so far.
but I also associate pain with this. And it hurts to think about some things that have happened in recent memory. Every song is filled with sadness to me that I may never be able to run away from.
I can't score this like a normal album, it's just impossible for me.
for that reason, I can't give this anything else but a 5/5. It's the only thing that makes sense. I can't view this thing properly. It means too much to me.

Porter Robinson's "Nurture" might just be a masterpiece that needs a few years to age to solidify such status. It's the first 'EDM' (can this even be called that?) record since perhaps Daft Punk's "Discovery" where it feels completely singularly-focused; no interference, no second guessing. Every song serves a greater purpose to the album's overall affection on a listener. The instrumentation on some songs feel like sounds ripped from a 90's Sega Saturn sound-cart, mixed in with new technology and inspired songwriting. "Nurture" is an album where any listener could find at least one song to enjoy, especially what feels like the unofficial follow-up to "Sea of Voices" - "Wind Tempos". As of writing this in August 2021, this is the best album of 2021 so far.

After some careful listening sessions, I can sadly not get into Porter Robinson's (and the year's) electronic critical darling. The saccharine-like nature of some of the melodies is beautifully mixed, but it just doesn't stick after several listens. Although this may be people's soundtrack for a new begining, to me its songs have hardly left any impact.

Post-clubbing EDM, or: feeling good while feeling bad(?). This sounds like a depressed person's idea of happiness - and this almost forceful way to deliver smashing textures right on top on self-pity statements feels at times a tad too, uhm, voyeuristic? It's fortunately not the case throughout the whole album, as this mostly feels like a springtime bloom happening after a very, very long winter.

What a gorgeous LP. You can tell Porter poured his heart into this project. Anybody can
find something valuable from this album; whether it's life-changing, or just another song
on their playlist. Either way, this album at its core is the light at the end of the
tunnel, and Porter had to go out of his way to find it in hopes he can help you find your
way out too.
I think Porter is successful with what he intended, given how big and loyal his fanbase has
become. With the amount of loving fans he brought together through this album alone, I
think it's safe to call this album an instant cult classic.

I have to start with why this was almost a truly great release; ?Blossom?. Jesus god what was he thinking when he wrote one of the corniest and tasteless folk ballads I have heard in a while. However, other than that one song the rest of this album is practically flawless. In a lot of ways, this is a simpler version of both Sufjan Stevens and Sweet Trip, while being heavily influenced by the last few years of hyperpop and continuing to be one of the top EDM artists of my generation. Tracks have so much life and bunch to them; make you really feel like someone running through a sunny field with no care in the world.

Absolutely the surprise of the year so far. Reminds me heavily of The Flashbulb in terms of both rvariety and execution quality.rPorter has always been successful at huge, bombastic EDM - Nurture shows that he is just as good, rif not even better, at displaying a quieter, more contemplative style.

Yeah... this album is definitely worth the hype. I wasn't sure cause its electronic and its rare
when music of this genre can actually be THIS captivating or emotive. It's an hour long of just
really feel good vibes. Reminds me of when I listened to the song Shelter for the first time. Now
imagine that for an hour straight. It's pure bliss my dudes.... last time I heard an electronic
album this enjoyable was Hurry Up, We're Waiting by M83.
