Highly mockable release if you don't get it as pure mockery. Really like these nerds and the concept they go for on each release. Also big take on experimental, adding to the called screamoBM takes, hip/tripop, punk, jazz and yeap those retro game 8bit samples.

This doesn’t sound as bad as you’d imagine it to be, initially. I wanted to like parts of this as it’s pretty whimsical
and coherence isn’t the goal here whatsoever due to it being a joke album and all, but it’s all over the place in the
worst way. Any cool ideas don’t last too long (i.e. 2nd half of Floodgates of Doom) and gets watered down by
something that sounds like a budget Anamanaguchi. This sounds new while simultaneously sounding like it
could’ve been playing over the store speakers inside a Hot Topic in 2008.

For as much as I like Cara Neir and as much as I love the idea of a self-serious black metal band go do meme-worthy video game music, this album sadly was a bit of a miss. Its chiptune aesthetic didn't go too far outside base gimmickry, because their chaotic song-writing is mostly the same as it's always been.
