| 2.0 poor | BlitzPhoenix98 | April 29th 21 | Wow. Talk about uninspired. At this point in time, Royal Blood are just copy-pasting all the ideas from their previous albums. No ingenuity, no creativity, no inspiration whatsoever. Perhaps the typhoons have washed away all the ideas, probably signaling that it's time to hang it up.

| 2.5 average | ArtBox | April 30th 21 | royal blood's first album is a real-good-sounding ep trapped in an average-sounding album's body and the second album is exactly the same and typhoons is exactly the same and i'll see y'all in 2025 when their fourth album is exactly the same

| 2.5 average | SlappingPythagoras | April 30th 21 | On first listen I am whelmed. I'm a bit of a Royal
Blood apologist, mainly because they're fantastic
live and I don't have any issue with their
simplistic style. Other than a couple of the
singles,
I'm not getting much out of this, and even the best
tracks aren't wonderful. Hard to wrap my head around
how this took them 4 years.

| 4.0 excellent | Antonius | June 6th 21 | It is not a hyperbole to label Typhoons as a 'danceable, feelgood, colorful and groovy' album. In this third release, the British duet stretches the boundaries of rock out of its comfort zone in a poppier, dancier and funkier one. Personally, I found this album magnificent and without the last 4 tracks, probably my album of the year. Yes, there is a deviation from the traditional 'rock style' and the straightforward-heavy bass punches of Royal Blood. Besides, if you are not hooked by "Oblivion', 'Typhoons", "Million and One" or "Mad Visions", you could turn into "Who Needs Friends" or "Either You Want It" for a taste of How Did We Get So Dark? or even "Boilermaker" for an 'original' RB sound. As a review very accurately put it "You could imagine Queens Of The Stone Age and Muse cooking it up in a disco, with Daft Punk on the decks". Recommendations: "Million and One", "Oblivion", "Typhoons", "Boilermaker", "Mad Visions".r

This band has been slowly driving themselves into a whole with more generic alternative rock grooves and progressions. However, the alternative dance and small bit of glam rock influence on this project continue to show the band can innovate. My hypothesis is that Warner Brothers is forcing a hand in their songwriting to make ?radio-friendly hits?. Will the band bounce back? Who knows but I?ll keep coming back because they continue to be somewhat interesting.

| 2.6 average | Erwann S. EMERITUS | May 2nd 21 | Hey this Muse album is not bad lmao. Typhoons has got that banging demeanor weaving some big bold riffs and a shiny disco-boogie-bop-yo-head coating, but it can't hide its lack of substance. It's catchy for sure, but as their second album, the few highlights ("Boilermaker", "Trouble's Coming") can't make up for how swagless this material is.

| 4.0 excellent | Fathm | April 30th 21 | It starts off a bit weird, the first 4 songs are probably the worst on the whole thing,
but it improves significantly after that. Who Needs Friends is incredibly forgettable,
and the radio single songs like Typhoons and Trouble's Coming feel a little off, but
everything after Million and One is great. Limbo is probably my favourite song they've
ever made honestly, and Either You Want It and Boilermaker both give it a run for it's
money. I also like the transition between Mad Visions and Hold On, they feel like two
distinct halves of one whole. The closer could be a little better, it feels a little bit
simple as a piano ballad. It's fine and a decent enough song but I don't think it's
incredible and probably one I'll skip. Overall though this is really good imo
