I could see why people would be underwhelmed by this, but it's exactly the album that I need for this moment. The Antlers focused completely on beauty with none of the anguish - Is it as exciting or interesting as their past work? No. But they set out to write "Sunday morning music" and did so masterfully

It was very weird for the group that made the most emotionally devastating album I've ever to go towards a more happier, laid back sound, especially at the beginning at the record, but by the end, this became sort of comforting and warm, especially for a band that I've always known to be so cold.

Soft and pristine, the newest Antlers record is also their warmest and most soothing. This translates into both the lyrics and the music, Silberman being at his least dark here, while the instrumentation - maybe less grand than their most well-known records - is mellow without being too subdued. The melodies, though discreet, still manage to invoke pastoral landscapes.
