It's hard to write innovative metal when your'e writing inside of a formula. They already
used a goofy noise to lead into a chug-chug breakdown on Taste Like Kevin Bacon, and the
jazzy soft parts got old quick after almost every song. It reminds me of that kid in school
who seeks attention by making loud noises and rapid arm movements, and at first, the class
buys into it, but after days of the same thing, it's old, and its over. IWABO uses gimmicks
as a crutch in their new disc 'It's All Happening', and ultimately, at the end of the
listen,I just found my self asking, "What were they trying to do with this record?".

Iwrestledabearonce follow the map to progression, but they're reading it all wrong. You see, Iwrestledabearonce prefer to be a jack of all trades rather than a master, or even a decent executor of one or two genres. This leads to a variety of strange genres that are all incorporated into Iwrestledabearonce's sound, none of which are really developed. Not only that, but it's really boring.

Vocals suck, experimentation is lame, and iwrestledabearonce is just annoying, not fun. The girl sounds like she's burping into the mic, and her cleans are forced. Gimmicks, and some alright breakdowns/weird passages save this from going into the 1's. God, her screams suck.

IWABO raise the bar as far as industry standards go with this album. They make an album that is fun, furious, and that definitely upstages the already awesome EP.

Weirdly enough, it's pretty un-weird. esp the 2nd half gives you a good deal of atmospheric sections rather, take The Cat's Pajamas for example, it's a pretty straightforward track that builds up in a pretty linear way and it happens to be the best on here. There's a few odd samples that either announce a breakdown or stand in place for one but it doesn't happen as often as its fans, its detractors and perhaps the band would have you believe, seriously. I was both let down by that (and the thin production...) and positively surprised by how well they pulled off the clean and melodic segments. One could say they seem unaware of what they're good at.

This is an insanely fun album. Every song on here is memorable and hard hitting. Even the mostly instrumental Black Eyed Bush is a great interlude into the EXCELLENT Eli Cash vs. The Godless Savages. A bit over the top in some places, but anything ultra goofy is over in the blink of an eye and your head banging or moshing again anyway. Instrumentation is INSANE all around and the vocalist is usually impressive.

This band has potential if they would stop attempting to be so random, even though all of their soft sections are very predictable. There are however somewhat creative ideas going on. Album is hurt kind of in the same as Arsonists Get all The Girls- they need to be more focused.

very few metal (whatever) bands these days do anything even semi-original.
these guys however stand out... weird/silly/serious/brutal.... tons of odd breaks and wtf moments.

actually rather disappointing, cramming way to much genre mish mashes in a short amount of time. However the drummer is especially talented and the vocalist is also amazing, though i feel she should be screaming a bit more since her clean are just a bit to erm, annoying.
Overall a rather average album with only 2 or 3 good songs, nevermind.
