4.0 excellent | Mitch Worden EMERITUS | December 4th 20 | They managed to merge the post~rock centric sound of their debut and mesh it amicably with
the blackgaze sound they developed on the sophomore. Can't ask for much better.
E: Johnny with another bad take. The world continues to spin.

3.5 great | ajcollins15 | December 17th 20 | Really solid blackgaze album with some truly atmospheric post-metal/post-rock instrumentals that keep me coming back for more. However, the mixing on this album is all over the place and that really is the worst part of this album. Sometimes the drums are so inaudible that I wonder if they are there. While other times the guitars are so damn washed out that they overtake the mix. But still, some really solid performances that any fan of Deafheaven would love this album.

4.0 excellent | Gary STAFF | December 15th 20 | Finally, some blackgazey stuff which I don't feel endlessly boring. The solos were a bit meh - often out of place, but generally the album was enjoyable, especially songs like "Selva" were outstandingly great. More or less copycat sounding release, but I liked how it does sound.

2.0 poor | hippolytus | December 13th 20 | An excellent example of meaningless hipster album hyped because of "provocative" naming

3.0 good | zaruyache | December 9th 20 | While the first two tracks start very strongly, the album kind of loses steam afterward. Opener "Sunflower" starts particularly well, mimicking the mid-paced uplifting blackgazing of deafheaven with stunning accuracy. And then it kinda just keeps going, but not as effectively, making me progressively lose interest. The rhythm guitar also doesn't pack much punch, making the few black metal sections have much less bite than they really should to have a meaningful impact. It's not bad by any means, but it probably could've been shorter.

3.5 great | hesperus | December 9th 20 | Perfectly serviceable Sunbather worship, but I expected more from this band after their self-titled album?s unique and creative take on post-black
