somewhere people thought this was better than Last City.
it isn't, but it's still great.

With Dark Mountain, Loma Prieta manages to condense themselves into an even more ready-made package than Last City and also makes an improvement on varying their songs a bit more. While it is still not the most original thing on the planet, to be sure, it is still a solid, and at some points even excellent screamo record with a penchant for evocative melodies and frustrated aggression. And really, what more could you want from a fifteen minute screamo record? I can't think of much else.
