| 2.5 average | Ronike | November 6th 20 | Genocidal Humanoidz is the better track here. A blast beat in a SOAD song? Certainly unexpected. Edit: The effect of Genocidal Humanoidz is really wearing off and this is generally rather underwhelming. Maybe a new SOAD album shouldn't happen after all.

| 3.5 great | Gary STAFF | November 6th 20 | Good to hear them again, Genocidal Humanoidz was clearly superior (a black metal-ish riff?!) but both songs felt emotional enough for me. I'm just glad they're back. (...but I feel kinda sad too. Best wishes to the people in Artsakh, 2020 is very rough for them.)

| 3.0 good | kalkwiese | November 6th 20 | One fun track and one that sucks. Quite a mixed bag, but I'm glad about new SOAD. I'm afraid Daron can't write decent songs anymore though

| 3.0 good | Jau Peacecraft | November 8th 20 | 1/2 ain't bad after such an extended hiatus. "Genocidal Humanoidz" is a great little slice of redemptive ,an angry SOAD protest metal timely delivered to us during Americas elections.
But the actual sum of the songs parts sound too much like a b-side than a full-fledged song. But this is the song that sounds more earnest of the duo.
As for the later: one but can't help but feel nothing but contempt that the band re-uses the "Lonely Day" song melody for something that comes off as less than even "Lonely Day", which actually had better production value going for it, in this case.
While many and I are howling in joy at the return of SOAD, their initial offering on their return is anything but just good enough to raise an eyebrow or two.
I give it another 6 months of back and forth reports of "reunions", and this will probably be the last we hear of the group.

| 3.5 great | Tomstein | November 6th 20 | Most of the points go to Genocidal Humanoidz, Protect the Land was ok but wasn't really the favorite out of the two. Judging what I've seen many people tend to agree.

| 2.0 poor | chilledpunkrock | November 6th 20 | As usual, the lyrics and messages behind these songs are great, especially Protect The Land. But the music on here is just... not good. Serj and Daron's vocals sound weak on both tracks, Protect the Land moves at a snail's pace without having the weight or drama of their other slow songs, and Genocidal Humanoidz, while it is better because it has an actual pace, doesn't hold up at all to something like Prison Song or B.Y.O.B. The blast beat and almost black metal riff is cool though.

| 3.5 great | Brabiz | November 6th 20 | Protect The Land is a very solid SOAD track, although nothing special. Genocidal Humanoidz is stellar, i just
can’t help but feel the production could be a bit beefier, the songs come off as kinda thin sounding. Also that
black metal-y riff?? Friggin cool. But seriously, it felt so nice to hear new stuff from this band again... pretty
excited to see where this reunion goes.
