Nothing wrong with Legacy, really! It just fails to give that lasting impression - again again. Because I do come back to it. I have heard it many times and it's good then and there, but I can't memorize even one of their songs. All in all a good album for many occasions.

can you say "best 80s classic thrash album?"
you'd better, because this album is that very thing! heavier than master of puppets, catchier than pre-rust-in-peace megadeth, more varied than reign in blood, and just plain better than exodus and anthrax (not that i don't like those bands).
in short, fucking immense!

Even when The New Order and The Gathering are really good albums on their own, somehow they don't quite hold the magic The Legacy has got. Hard to explain, this simply god damn rocks.

Some sick riffs and nice drum-fills over this, the singer at times annoys me and when he gets into his falsetto just exudes dad-rock ptsd vibes for me. The mix is really flat and not the best, everything has clarity at least but none of it's dynamic. Will have to do a return listen with the 2017 fan remaster that apparently evens out the mixing and makes it superior to the official release. Having heard a few Testament songs I really liked that came on autoplay, was sort of let down with this release. Hopefully it's all up from the debut?

It's like one single 38-minutes track: repetitive and boring. Guitar solos are dull and
predictable. Also there are thousands of 80's thrash metal albums that sound exactly like
this. It has its shiny moments, like Do or Die or Alone in the Dark, but most of it is
just monotonous.

Onw of the best Bay Area thrash band release their best album straight away. A puniwhing 40 minutes with rough vicals and spectaculsr guitar-playing. A lot of neoclassical soloing comes out of Skolnick?s fingers which really puts Testament apart.

Testament is an essential band in the Testament of Metal and their Legacy is cemented by this album. With amazing metal tracks from the start to the end of the album, the band never stops their musical assault. The outstanding track (for me) include Over the Wall, Burnt Offerings and First Strike is Deadly. Shout out to Alex Skolnick for such a mind blowing guitar work.

In my opinion the next one is better however The Legacy is probably their classic album. Over the Wall, Burnt Offerings, Raging Waters, First Strike Is Deadly or Alone in the Dark are absolute Bay Area TM classics. The best moment here is Skolnick's solo on Over the Wall.

This is Testaments' best album. Period. Alex Skolnick's guitar solos are absolutely incredible. Eric Peterson's riffs are kick-ass, and Chuck Billy's vocals are probably the best the genre have ever seen. It's a shame these guys are not part of the Big Four.

Speed, aggression and the occasional signs of melody are all present and prominent enough for noting in The Legacy. As one might expect, the album is at its best during the solos and heavier drum moments, which helps make for an invigorating listen. Even though the entire album isn't consistent enough to make it worth elite praise, this is still a great album that any thrash metal fan would do well to keep an eye out for.

I happen to love the burnt offerings verse riff and that pre-1st-verse-riff. And also the guitars sounding like violins in the begining. The verse riff is for me the best Testament riff ever as Hangar 18's begining and then verse riffs are for Megadeth.
