| 3.5 great | Infernis | May 21st 09 | Lacks something. The guitars feel somewhat thin. The heavy parts are heavy, and the driving parts are great...but it's hard to feel like they are fused very well or coherently. While the riffing is tasteful and technical, it's hard to not feel like they're recycled due to Gorod's tendency to shred over sometimes simple rhythmic groove patterns.
Not as captivating as their last effort, but certainly a solid one. Some songs themselves are excellent and some of their best, otherwise...It's a solid album, perhaps somewhat underwhelming considering how great their previous releases were.

| 1.5 very poor | Bedex | September 28th 20 | Boy I haven't wanted to stop an album after just a couple tracks in a long long time. This is a concentrate of everything I dislike in death metal. Pointless (endless soloing), tappy tapp arpeggios all the time, squeal vocals, you name it. And this is from A to Z with no intro or outro whatsoever for the album. They are saved from 1.0 tier by the occasional good riff (min 3 on 1, some of 3, the entry riff of 7 for example), some actually ok and less unbearable tracks (still 2.5-3.0 range at most, 4-5, 10-11 maybe), and scarce really nice bits (mostly the intro and outro to 10) that make you wish they used their fantastic musicianship in better ways for the whole record and not just those 20 seconds, but yea pretty much every time something is going well it won't take 20s before the annoying soloing etc starts again. There also some quirky mix things e.g. what the hell is up with 9 at 2:20, but that is quite rare thankfully. Really did not enjoy this one at all except in brief moments of respite. 1.6

| 3.0 good | GamamJ | July 27th 20 | Another solid Gorod offering, but their weakest yet. After going in a more complex progressive direction on Leading Vision, Gorod seemingly take a step back on their third offering. Concentrating more on loads of melody, and a more straight-forward style, Gorod bring back some of the awesome neoclassical leadwork and catchy melodies that I felt missed a bit on Visions, but take two steps back on terms of composition.

| 3.5 great | Insurrection | February 12th 13 | It's fast, it's heavy, it's progressive, it's got mindblowing instrumentation, and it's technical as all hell. Thing is, it's not Gorod.

| 3.5 great | kocZkHa | July 30th 11 | Guitars are fucking face melting though the long tracks could get a little boring. Still a great album recommended for every metal guy;)

| 4.0 excellent | Zolrak | June 3rd 11 | Amazing album. I'm okay with the guitar wankery, the drums are not as "jazzy" and groovy as in the previous album and the vocals sometimes goes to the background after a few songs. The melodies are great (especially on the first two songs for which I'm addicted), but the problem goes on the next two songs, which are kind of awkward, slow-paced and groove driven songs that should've been let near the end; not bad songs but not in the proper order. This is what makes me feel disappointed about the album, that suddenly mid-through the album you feel like it lost its pace and you can't keep following it. BUT if you give it a few listens from "The Path" and forward, you'll find melody, harmony, ambient and progressivity. "A Common Hope" sounds like it could be the first track on Leading Vision, and "Watershed" is clearly their best instrumental.
I don't want to extend a lot more (which I already did =P) but I'll resume: listen after midway the album and you'll find this album has its charm.
By the way, they released their EP trailer and sounds just great! One of the acoustics is a nice version of "Blackout" and I'm looking forward to what they have to offer on that 14 minutes song.

| 3.0 good | GregBP | May 20th 09 | It's good... but it lacks some of the really interesting parts the previous albums had, like the end of 'Here Die Your Gods' from LV and the awesomeness of 'Intro'/'Gutting Job' from Neurotripsicks.
It's alright, but why bother when LV and Neurotripsicks are exponentially better? I'll need a few more listens to see if anything really pops out at me.
