Waste of time. Ngl, the intro was kinda alright, but the rest... *painful* waste of time. Congratulations, the worst album and album cover of the year (so far)!

I think this wins the coveted "worst album cover of the year" award by a wide margin but at leas the music is still good. It's one holistic piece and it's really really weird but it's interesting. Didn't expect to hear trap beats, djent, black metal, autotune, and an orchestra all on one sub-4 minute song. Also feels like a story is being told here that I don't even remotely understand.

It?s hard to review albums like these because of how off the wall they are. Last year Hunter gave us the introduction to what she has been experimenting on for the last few years. However, that album had a glaring mixing and production issue. However, on her most recent effort, she creates one of the most interesting and diverse black metal albums to ever exist. For almost anyone here I would imagine no one has ever stepped foot into the black metal scene (and for good reason); it?s a hard genre to listen to sometimes. What Hunter does is creates an almost charming nature to this very dark genre of metal. She has one hell of a knack for creating dense and magnificent sound stages, without going too overboard with ideas. She perfectly melds the harshness of black metal with the sophistication of chamber music and opera. Truly a listen for the ages. This might not change black metal, but she is apart of the forces to change the gatekeeping being seen in the genre.

Liturgy's "characteristic synthesis between black metal, minimalism, experimental club music, and 19th-century romanticism". Yes, that is true, but it comes as the expense of these fast and aggressive passages that made me appreciate H.A.Q.Q.. The incorporation of strings and pianos were imo more well-integrated in the previous record. Gotta say though, respect for the devotion, RHH.

Pretty fuckin rad. I felt like I was listening to a mixture of GYBE, Midsommar soundtrack, and a Liturgy album all wrapped up into one lean and neat package.
