4.0 excellentJared Wegenast | November 14th 20

I personally prefer this over Bannon's work on this year's Umbra Vitae record. Instrumentally fresh and different from the perspective of a long-time Converge listener. Bannon's vocals are perfect on the record, and the concepts/lyrics are great. Could have been more interesting on the front of arrangement and instrumentation; some song structures are a little predictable, but overall it's pretty great.

The songs from this album sound as if they are from the "Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism"
the session, but they didn't make the cut because they are weak. So, not wanting to waste the
materials, Shane Embury uses them for Blood From The Soul's sophomore album.
