4.5 superb | chilledpunkrock | December 11th 20 | Singles outside of Take Care in Your Dreaming didn't do much for me, but in the context of the album they're all great, as is the rest of the album. It's a massive departure for them and I can see why some people wouldn't like it, but for me, this is one of the most evocative albums I've heard this year. It feels like tuning a radio dial on the way to the afterlife.

4.5 superb | Slothy Seconds | December 10th 20 | This took a few minutes to get into, but once you are in, holy fuck it's an adventure. Album
works better as a whole, however individual tracks, like Take Care Of Your Dreaming, We Go
On, Wherever You Go, The Divine Chord, and the at times obnoxious Running Red Lights all
stand out, and you find yourself anticipating them upon next listen. Featured artists such
as Sampa the Great, Denzel Curry, Jamie XX, Neneh Cherry, Tricky, the list goes on, are all
excellent. Well worth repeated listens.

3.0 good | charlopiano | December 28th 20 | My problem with The Avalanches is that the kind of music they make doesn't fit in an album format, especially for 1h13. It's more of a playlist. And that's something I hate.

4.0 excellent | ajcollins15 | December 17th 20 | At one point or another everyone will go through loss. The emotion is a powerful one and probably the one that can manipulate us to do things we didn?t mean to. That is why people are always told to love those who are going through a loss because they need it more than they could imagine. On the 3rd album from the legendary plunderphonics and trip-hop duo we see them explore this topic of loss and love in tandem with one another and where that can lead one in any sense of the meaning of loss. Is this their best album, no, but is this another fairly strong addition to their amazing trio of albums, absolutely. Any fan of hip-hop and electronic music needs to hear this album in all its glory. The worst part of this album is that it is littered with unnecessary interludes and some unnecessary features.

3.0 good | lz41 | December 17th 20 | For all its isolated sadness, "We Will Always Love You" is the Avalanches' album that is most easily understood in translation. Its run home is the strongest part.

3.5 great | Erwann S. STAFF | December 14th 20 | This is much less plunderphonics than their past work. There's a reason for that: member Robbie Chater gave away his 7000+ record collection (i would never dare). We Will Always Love You thus acts as a re-start, The Avalanches wanting to add their own instrumentation on top of the sampling-based material. Likewise, instead of searching for the *perfect* vocal sample, they chose to invite tons of guest vocalists. This new process is what grants the album its freshness, relegating The Wildflower to the status of mere mixtape. Although quite long at times, it successes in engaging the listener into an artsy pop record.

4.0 excellent | BlitzPhoenix98 | December 11th 20 | This really caught me off guard. By the subpar singles in comparison to everything they've released before, I was afraid of coming into this being disappointed. I came out of this with a very pleasant surprise. Everything works really well when connected and the interludes perfectly suit what is to come. All the collaborators perfectly did their jobs and breathed new life into these songs.
