there are several tracks here they could have cut in half without losing anything. there is no reason this album has to be 84 minutes long. 'arson' was definitely a better and more focussed record - rating rounded up because i'm a sucker for their riffing style but i'm pretty disappointed in it. also, neige's feature on this was totally wasted.

This album really is a grower. Originally felt it was way too long for its own good, but the more I have listened the less this feels like an issue. rStill feel like a good 15 mins could be shaven off, but the album as a whole is too good for this to ruin the experience.

I dropped 3 tracks out of 9 (the cover doesn't count obviously) and it feels much better now. Doesn't medicate the mentioned 'unfocusedness' though but still good shit.

Not a lot to say that builds on what others have said really. There's some top tier, 4/4.5 music here, I really love the sound these guys have going on & each individual track is epic in its own right. As a whole album though, the runtime is huge & sadly there is a lack of variability. The only real change up is on Silver Needle // Golden Dawn with a more mid-tempo groove, but even that's a bit too little, too late to make much of a difference.rMajor props for the Placebo cover though, fucking love that song & it's intriguing hearing it recreated in this style.

Always enjoyed Harakiri pretty well, but is it just me or have these guys not evolved in a substantial way since Aokigahara. I feel like the last three albums, despite having some good moments are pretty interchangeable. Also I would love a shorter more focused album.

Really good ideas in all the tracks but they are to long, they feel really unfocused. Track by track my raiting is really harsh but as an album is really tedious to listen from top to bottom.

A few tracks stand out mostly for their accidentally memorable construction, but overall I found the vast majority of this album to be dull. Exhausting length does not equal epic journey, please.
