Sumblime's self titled album is by all means a hit. It has punk like Same in the End and Seed, rap like Ballad of Johnny Butt and Garden groove and Regae like Carress Me Down and Jailhouse. This has many other hits like Santeria, Wrong Way and What I Got. This album is a great pick up one of the most enjoyable albums that I have ever listened to.

There's literally no miss on this album, its pure gold, and What I Got, more like we got a masterpiece, like this album is the perfect mix of stoner stuff and alt/grunge, a superb well-crafted album 4,6/5

Yes, a few tracks admittedly are kinda weaker than all the rest, but seriously, there is virtually nothing else on this otherwise near-flawless swansong that even remotely hints at it being any less than a summer classic. Buy this instead of any subsequent "Greatest Hits" hodgepodges.

Sublime's self-titled record succeeds due to three factors: its versatility, its performances, and its energy. The band expertly mix musicianship and accessibility on here, and maintain a consistent flow throughout despite cycling through genres as diverse as punk, hip hop, and reggae. And, while all of the performances are excellent, Brad Nowell deserves special mention: his vocals especially are a big part of why this is such an effective record. The album's only flaw is its containing a few unnecessary tracks (including the reprise of "What I Got"). However, Sublime is nonetheless a hugely influential and highly enjoyable listen.

The last Sublime album has some of the bands best material, but some of it comes off as a bit more than is needed for it. For instance, the album could well have ended on "Caress Me Down", but instead we get a reprise of "What I Got" and the rather odd "Doin' Time". For what it's worth however, it still features some of the band's best material.

one of my alltime favorite albums and bands both.although personaly i enjoyed thier debut album 40 oz. to freedom slightly better.theyre 1st demo "jah wont pay the bills" is also in my personal hall of fame.but dont get me wrong fellas.this album is easily a classic.i can listen to it from start to finish with nuthin but a joint,a boner,and a smile on my face;) RIP brad.fuck rome.

was my favorite album of all time for a couple years (until the marshall mathers lp blew my mind and then some). every single song is at least a 4-star and this album is completely flawless. rip brad and this new "sublime w/ rome" shit is a disgrace.

There isn't much that I can say about this record that isn't a repetition of others like myself. This music made a pretty big impact on my life and listening habits to boot, and the songs on it are genious in my opinion. There will be no other Sublime, and no other records like this one. It's truely sad that the band's finest hour would also be their last, and this self-titled mainstream debut will go down as one of the major defining records of the 90's.

One of my personal favorites, Sublime offers a well made CD that showcases their style. Santeria, Wrong Way, What I Got, and just about every other song on this CD are very well written. This is a must-have for anyone who likes good music.

This is one of the few albums where I can say it is a classic both inside and outside its genre. Songs like "Santeria" and "Doin' Time" make Sublime's self-titled an album that practically anyone can appreciate. The combination of a mainstream appealing sound and skillful musicianship from all of the band's members makes "Sublime" a gem that can be equally adored by music buffs and your everyday radio listener. While not every track may not be a classic, those that are ("What I Got", "Get Ready") definitely make up for them.
