A very subtly technical and mostly emotional orog-metal ride. Coming into this album I expected (and was looking forward to) a Dream Theater clone. However, what I got was something entirely different. This album uses mainly the very emotional vocals and melodies to capture the listener, and subtly backlayering them with immensely technical structures and instrumentation. Very nice.

alarmingly when subjected to this.
It has some nice moments tho, and is so
outlandish that it's actually quite a

A compositional and instrumental tour de force. Pain of Salvation pepper the album with self-references and dense arrangements, lining up one memorable melody after another. The result is complex and layered, but lacking in the pure spontaneity PoS would perfect in Remedy Lane - much like Remedy Lane lacks TPE's own grandeur and atmosphere. They are two sides of the genius of PoS.

Simply put, an amazing album. The album contains no fillers, but consistently surpises the listener with well placed solos and amazing riffs. Daniels amazing voice is taking the vocal standards of progressiv rock to new heights. The lyrics are amazing and rarely you find music that succeeds to match the feelings of the lyrics so well!
