While obviously not as good as the original, I really do love what the band did with this second
S&M. We got to hear some renditions of songs we hadn't heard with the symphony before, the best of
which (on the first half of the album) I'd say is The Day That Never Comes. Confusion was somewhat
of a baffling addition to the set-list, but it's pretty much harmless. The beginning portion of
the second half of the performance is the
most notable part of this album. The 2 classical pieces are pretty awesome, and then we get 3
unique performances: The Unforgiven III (an underrated cut off of Death Magnetic) with just James
and the symphony, an acoustic rendition of All Within My Hands, and a tribute to the late Cliff
Burton with a rendition of Pulling Teeth by a member of the symphony (at least I think that's the
case). All 3 are wonderful, but my favorite was probably the acoustic version of All Within My
Hands, which is better than anything that was originally on St. Anger. They turn what used to be a
dumpster fire of a song into a genuinely emotive song. This is probably my highlight of the entire
album. The rest of the album is pretty standard fare with not too much different from the original
S&M, just weaker performances from the band, which is a given. I'm glad the band did this though
and got a little creative with some of the songs. This is honestly the best thing they've released
since the original S&M, so good for you boys!

The performances are obviously very solid, but I would have loved to hear some deeper cuts, as half of the songs on here are also on S&M. I'm not a big fan of the classical pieces either. The highlights for me are the Death Magnetic tracks and "All Within My Hands".

S&M was one of those live albums that transcends the original work. S&M 2 is just Metallica with a symphony playing behind it. It didn't feel like the symphony really belonged there.

Tbh, this sounds pretty good without Metallica. It's good for one listen, but it is the most unnecessary release of 2020.

Not the best setlist as mentioned previously by another user. It's a decent listen. I dont think I will revisit this anytime soon.

A fun listen, but doesn't hold a candle to the original. Some of the arrangements on songs from
S&M1 get touched up some (see "Master of Puppets"), but the setlist remains questionable and could
have used some deeper cuts from the back catalog.
