This band kicks ass. they always bring the riffs, and this record is no exception. definitely one of the most consistent doom bands

Apparently, too much praise can seriously hurt a band. I mean, it's like they didn't even try. At all.

a terribly produced and forgettable collection of what feels like b-sides. it's really weird to hear pallbearer sing such emotional lyrics from such a detached place - it really takes me out of the experience. if i hear lines like "Who can I trust with tomorrow? I no longer know myself" and "Did part of me die while watching you go?" i expect some sense of conviction rather than total apathy but that's how this album feels, completely apathetic. riverbed's pretty good, nothing else sticks with me. pallbearer know how to sound absolutely massive but here they seem resigned to their most indifferent and comfortable.

Second listen and 3 cups of coffee still had me snoozing off a bit, this is Pallbearer at their worst and very hard to get into... I sure wish they followed the Sorrow and Extinction path but rose bushes and debris covered that way home a long time ago

Sounding off after bumping this to a 4. Indeed this shit is aiming for bigger stages. I don't care for Riverbed and Stasis, but honestly I've always liked the opener since it was out. Silver Wings is a gorgeous song and right after you get these 2 in 1 songs (The Quicksand of Existing+Vengeance&Ruination) which were huge growers. Caledonia is as weird as original as it rgets.

Since I'm not a huge fan of this band, this mainly a snoozefest. Before this album, Pallbearer only managed to appeal to me during certain parts of some songs. The same happens here, some beautiful guitar tones awaking me in the middle of the production slump. Sleepy doom with occasional pretty guitar leads.
