Of course this is divisive which is why I dgaf about the sub-4 average but I shall definitely do my part to boost it. More power to them on bringing new meaning to deconstructed. The record with Keiji Haino was a little too much but this hits a delicious sweet spot.

Massive respect to Turner for following up Isis with something dramatically different but comparably ambitious. Love this record.

I?ve had my copy a good two weeks now so I feel okay rating. Turner and co go much further down the improv / harsh noise rabbit hole and it feels much more cohesive than Love In Shadow, which had blatant stopping and starting points to those free passages. If this is your kind of thing it?s fantastic, I can see fans of more traditional heavy music being turned off by the longer passages of improv/ambience/noise.

A fully experimental and avant garde "piece". The space between notes are assigned as much importance as the space filled with notes. Tones are on point as always, crushing when it wants to be. It just doesn't want to be all that often.

Probably rating this a bit too high but fuck it, this absolutely destroys. So much more cohesive
than Love In Shadow was, as far as the blend between noise/improv sections and the more
straightforward riffing.
