Most humble concept album ever created? This is a gorgeous, contemplative work that manages to simultaneously feel as big as the open sky and yet as small as a fenced-off backyard. It's the aural equivalent of standing in that backyard on a winter night while gazing into that starry sky, pondering the questions of our existence in such a vast universe with the curiosity of an eager child. The music maintains a sense of youthful abandon throughout the record, playfully jumping between different shades of indie/folk, but somehow it flows inexplicably well; the album feels less like its 8 songs, and more like 2 multi-part small-scale epics. In the Attic of the Universe reminds me of how fascinated I was with exploring the world around me when I was little (a fascination which has thankfully remained intact over the years); it makes me feel like a kid again, and that's one of the highest compliments I can give to a work of art.

This album sounds like standing outside in the middle of winter and inhaling. Making use of his ability to write music with repetitive melodic themes without becoming boring Peter Silberman turns his personal confusion into a beautiful album dealing with themes of personal inspection, importance, and love of the universe into a beautifully laid album.
