2020 continues to spectacularly disappoint. I'm left astounded how a fairly technical thrash act can sound like boneless Exodus more than 30 years into their career

Adult oriented thrash metal from a band absolutely no one expected to do so; Empire of the Blind sounds like an auditory teleportation to the early '90s, when thrash was becoming obsolete and outfits of the sort, simplified their sound in order to survive. What's bewildering is that in a handful of sites, Heathen prove that they can still sound like the Heathen every tech thrasher knows and appreciates, and even though sound work rips, their distancing from tech thrash feels almost blatant...
