To Death?s Heart (In Three Parts) alone gives this album 4.5. That song is unreal !!!!! The album sinks in after about 3 listens it?s superb !!!!!. Lyrics/depth is as strong as usual.

Lush indie folk whose pristine arrangements make it skyrocket to the top of 2020 indie folk. Then again, lyrics ain't my priority, but when they are coupled with such engaging songwriting, you've got a special work. The singing is mostly soft and reserved and serves as a counterbalance for the ever-flowing music. Some parts aren't as lush as others, and you get it: these parts are not as necessary. However, when it works, this album does work very well.

Boring in parts, cutting 3-4 songs would help a lot. Calais to Dover is an absolute banger !

This was my first Bright Eyes album and it was amazing. Stellar songwriting all over the place with original sounds to create some of the best tracks of the year. Stairwell song, persona non grata, comet song, these songs are amazing.

Good album overall, but the songs kindda sound all the same and are really forgetable, but their some songs that stand out. It feels like the album could be way better, but something got in the way, idk man, its a okay album r- I relistened to certain songs and afterward, i would push the album up at least 7/10 now
