This album should be respected by everyone. A very clever late 00s post-hardcore album with probably the greatest single to ever drop in the scene (safe to say). It'll be a no-brainer to look back on this and give it props.

Vanna has been through a lot of different members, seriously; they have 7 former members. Maybe this is a good thing, I mean lets be honest, their first album was a huge headache, but this album is actually a breakthrough for this band. I personally love their old vocalist "Chris Preece" He was an amazing screamer, so I was kinda not looking forward to their new screamer, but it turns out that he does a great job! Vanna never disappoints when it comes to heavy breakdowns and that's exactly what this album gives you. This album brings mellow sound, soft catchy choruses with great clean vocals, and of course good breakdowns. Vanna is just a great Post-Hardcore band but with a little extra hardcore edge.

For one reason or another, I enjoyed 'A New Hope' a lot more than I did their previous album, 'Curses'. While their debut showed so much potential for what this band can and could do, it still remained more on the just good side of things since there was really nothing to make the band stand out above any other band in the genre. With 'A New Hope', their still not breaking down those walls, but they're surely making an impact. Catchier, cleaner and a little more balanced than their previous album, their second full length album displays a more of a balanced group, working more with their clean vocalist and less on those messy (but enjoyable) tracks that we found throughout more on their previous releases. 'A New Hope' is a step forward for Vanna, and while it might not pave them any new ground in their career, it will certainly be their most memorable record to date in my opinion.
