4.0 excellent | Mordad | February 9th 09 | After a few seconds of playing the first song “Incarnation of Truth” I realized that Angband plays in the vein of 80’s metal. They remind me of King Diamond , old Iced Earth and glorious days of metal music.
The wailing vocals of Ashkan Yazdani and the killer guitar riffs with some eastern melodies is what I like after hearing a few songs. “Flaming sight” and “Look Into the Abyss” are my favorite songs in this album and “The King’s command” is a really an attractive instrumental track, specially the ending part.
I consider “Rising from Apadana” as a very good start and think if the production was a little better they could draw more attention so I’m waiting to hear more from them cause I feel they have the potential to become a great power metal band.
