This album is pure unadulterated dogshit. Its most glaring flaws are the consistently unimaginative songwriting (which is surprising, given Bemis' track record) and Conley's grating, bitchy vocals (which is decidedly less surprising). There are a couple of mildly satisfying songs ("Dead Lizard," "Crawl"), but in the end these guys are way too old to get away with churning out lines like "Let me stay asleep 'cause I don't care, I won't wait for you to believe our love is here." Barf.

Max Bemis and Chris Conley work together to make a bit of a subpar album for both artists. Both have put out better music than what's here, but there are some good songs among some filler. Max and Chris's voices complement each other, and the guitars, bass, and drums sound good for the most part. It'd be great to hear more from this project with a bit more focus and inspiration.

Max Bemis and Chris Conley cowrote an amazing CD, so far my years favorite. It is compacted with catchy lyrics, impeccable writing, amazing harmonizing, and two friends making great music together. As a fan of Max Bemis I must say I've been anticipating this album for a long time, to some it disapointed, but looking at the album as just an album composed by two friends just wanting to make music, i loved it, Pop/Punk at its finest.

This is not nearly as bad of an album as people are saying it is. The vocals are harmonized to near perfection on the first few tracks, and these first songs are all very catchy. People say that the album tails off towards the end, but I think people need to listen to these songs again. "Alice" is haunting and probably has the best songwriting on the album, and "Even If You Don't" reminds listeners of some old school punk with its extremely emotional yet sarcastic chorus. Their are a few bad tracks, and the songwriting isn't that great but I still think this is a very impressive pop-punk album.

Im a huge say anything fan and semi big saves the day fan, when i heard bemis and conley were gonna do this, i was stoked, needless to say, its a mediocre album. So far this is the biggest let down of 09

I thought this would be better given that both Chris Conley and Max Bemis usually do a good job of living up to expectations (with the exception of Saves the Day's Under the Boards) but the album as a whole seems pretty uninspired. Two Tongues do have some great songs (Crawl, Tremors, Even If You Dont, Dead Lizard) but they aren't enough to make their debut live up to mountains of hype built behind it. Two Tongues play it safe through out most of their debut and the only time they try to incorporate new sounds into their formula they fail massively with the awkward faux-disco of Back Against the Wall. All in all its a bit of a let down albeit a somewhat decent one.
