| 5.0 classic | ChaosTheory | August 17th 08 | This live album is classic in every sense of the word. Its only downfall is its lack of tracks; but for the short time it lasts you will be in for a ride. James LaBrie is the star of the show here; i have never heard him sing so well. Highlights include "Another Hand - The Killing Hand", "A Fortune in Lies" and "Metropolis"

| 4.0 excellent | GamamJ | July 2nd 20 | Damn, the guys are tight. as is proven here, on their first live album, Dream Theater have always made it of utmost importance to be squeeky clean live. Great tracks, including the fantastic Bombay Vindaloo jam. LaBrie sounds absolutely ravising here, and his screams in Another Hand - The Killing Hand are nothing short of breathtaking. Would have loved to hear Learning to Live live with him in this form.

| 3.5 great | Deadwing2112 | April 17th 20 | The first live album released by Dream Theater is an abbreviated set list combining tracks from the first two studio albums. This provided fans an opportunity to listen to James LaBrie perform vocals (albeit re-recorded after the concert in studio) on A Fortune in Lies and The Killing Hand in lieu of Charlie Dominici. Mike Portnoy is an absolute beast behind the drum kit during his A Fortune in Lies solo. John Petrucci and Portnoy also kill on Bombay Vindaloo, an improvisation instrumental that has not been studio recorded. The raw energy of the band is nicely captured on this recording, especially Portnoy and Petrucci, however it would have been more satisfying to have released the concert in its entirety.
