My ears actually hurt. My head too.rThe drums are the same every track, the vox are the same every track and the bass barely does something. The only ok part of the band is the guitar, throwing some cool riffs occasionally, and playing 1 solo somewhere in between (if this is really a solo? sounds like a lick or something).rIve been into some Crossover Thrash lately, so I thought I might enjoy this. The first and the last track are actually pretty decent (hence the 1.5), and could be the ends of a great album, but the 25 tracks in between are complete shit - and they sound exactly the same. rThis is my first 1.5, and seeing as all of my 1's are troll ratings, this is the worst album I ever forced myself through. I really tried and wanted to like this, but this is really fucking shit.rDid I mention my head hurts? I will probably be spending the next hour listening to Elton John and Paul Simon to recover.rP.S: Am I actually the first person to dislike this?

This slays. Brutal, savage, a napalm bomb of RIFFS. Also, this has a surprisingly great production (that bass tone is ultra thicc, not to mention the drums sound pretty tight as well). Definitely highest quality grind you can find.

A huge step forward in comparisson with Scum. The concept is the same but the lyrics and the impact of the grind/doom songs are harmonic and violent. Napalm Death is still out there, but the definition of the genre is on the first steps. A timeless album before the band started to put some Death Metal albums on their discography, which are fucking good too.

Fresh off of the success of Scum, widely considered to be one of the first grindcore records, Napalm Death had some shifting done in their lineup and settled on frenetic vocalist Lee Dorrain, soon-to-be legendary guitarist Bill Steer, returning drummer Mick Harris, and their bassist from then to this day, Shane Embury. Together, they made From Enslavement To Obliteration one of the most enjoyable crust-leaning grindcore albums of the time, with production that just rockets away with a bassy, thunderous sound. The one drawback here is the somewhat homogenous songwriting, which only really has two modes: blasting away at a minute a pop, or trudging their way through two and a half minutes. Either way, the riffs and drumming, along with the excellent bass presence, are all at least competent, and more often than not, very good. It doesn't quite reach the heights or possess the personality of Scum, but make no mistake: From Enslavement To Obliteration is still a needed listen for anyone professing to be a fan of Napalm Death or grindcore in general.
