Massive and ominous, Immoto is the perfect follow up to Derivae. They’ve managed to push the abstract
qualities of their sound further, giving the album a distinctly progressive feeling, but it’s particularly noteworthy
how well composed and integrated the cleaner sections are. The wildcard element is the vocals, which add a real
emotional weight to their sound and manage to elevate the quality of this album even further.

A truly transformative experience. The peculiarity of this album, its complexity and the way it goes beyond boundaries of genre make it totally antagonistic (you will hate it or adore it). Built from foundations as diverse as Gorguts, Deathspell Omega, Meshuggah or Tool, Immoto emanates a disconcerting aesthetic that is both schizophrenic and seductive, just like a motionless kiss of death that slowly puts us to sleep.

They definitely have what I already can call Italian Dissonant Black Metal (from bands like Noise
Trail Immersion f.e.)...also find this to have a lot of "post math jazz rock" influence. I
understand complaints about the vocals, but I actually think they add a brilliant interpretation
characteristic. Very interesting release. The only set back is that it gets too loose and
atmospheric for me, loosing at the same time just a little bit of focus, that could turn this into
awesome levels (imo). Recd track - La Casa Del Diavolo

Fans of Derivae will have a lot to look forward to in Nero's latest effort. That bass presence is particularly dominant. I have some gripes with the vocals, but I'm generally getting too caught up in the instrumental work to nail down why that is.
