Easily the band's best since Knife Man, and the angriest and most focused since then to boot. Takes the more baroque instrumentation of CI and marries it to a wonderfully cohesive framework of caustic disgust and touching hope. This is a damned great start to the year.

First time listener to AJJ and ehh - that voice isn't for everyone. Certainly not for me. Music is simple but not bad. Vocal tone is just plain annoying though.

i like that they're exploring new sonic territory but i think the bluntness of the lyrics actually hinders them for oncerthat being said normalization blues is probably top 5 AJJ for me. "this is the golden age of dickotry/probably the last golden age of anything/and the ugliest word in the english language is 'anthropocene'" really kneed my climate grief in the balls
