2.5 average | SandwichBubble | February 1st 20 | Was incorrect about Destroyer releasing their 5th 3.0 in a row, glad to see them branch out.
Edit: this soundoff doesn't make sense anymore. For context: I used to have the 4 Destroyer albums before this at a 3.0.

4.0 excellent | Lucman | January 29th 20 | Have We Met is yet another triumphant showcase of songwriting from Destroyer. It's subtly gorgeous, atmospherically transcendent, and strikingly grand. Bejar only continues to write with a consistency that should leave any songwriter green with envy.

2.0 poor | davezillaMP3 | April 16th 20 | I am sorry, I just found this to be obnoxious and rather annoying

2.0 poor | cjbizzlebizzle | March 24th 20 | Good production, good synth, good opening track but beyond that this album is an album that really, really does not make you want to go back and listen to it repeatedly. Within hours of listening you pretty much forget this album existed, maybe remember Crimson tide, and for the most part it just lacks instrumental parts, hooks, tension dynamics that get you want to dig into the music more. And for me, personally, the lyrics are painfully overdone and the vocals themselves are just kind of boring. Destroyer might be the act name that suits its content the least, of bands in recent memory.

2.9 good | Erwann S. STAFF | February 7th 20 | Adult contemporary in 2020. The good cuts are particularly tasty (eg the first two tracks), but the more ambient ones are not as fascinating as his previous marvelous efforts (lookin' at u Kaputt). Since the less upbeat tracks make up the bulk of the record, the record is not exactly engaging, and the chillness that these songs could have brought falls flat at times (Have We Met). Dan's sense of melody is still top notch, so even though it does not make for an amazing album, it sure is a nice ride.

4.0 excellent | juiceviaorange | February 1st 20 | A couple spins through and I'm just again in love. Bejar just pumps out the goods always.
Can't wait to spend a lot more time with Have We Met. Has a little bit of Ken DNA, but
not as much as I thought it would. Kind of a darker, distant cousin of Kaputt, but that's
just a comparison for comparison's sake. Has traces of what Your Blues originated as 16
years ago too, but far less Vaudevillian. This could very easily climb from a 4, but I'll
let her nest in my brain for awhile.
