2007: Soulja Boy releases "Crank That" and it's the worst thing ever. Yeah, all the usual fluff. Hip-hop haters are given more ammunition for their "fall of music" tirade, the morons stuck on the old school call it "another step towards the downfall of hip-hop," and all the lovers just gotta do that dance. (Fun fact: to "superman that ho," simply ejaculate on her back while she's sleeping and stick a bedsheet to it. A cape!). The album is horrible but it's not like any of us have actually heard it. And I felt bad for the guy, being hated on like that. When Entertainment Weekly calls your debut the worst album of the year, what next?
Any self-respecting fool would learn the errors of his ways but Soulja Boy is no ordinary fool. "Crank That" was the top downloaded ringtone ever and dat's real cool, so it looks like iSouljaBoyTellEm is meant to replicate that success with Yamahas and Gucci and the Bird Walk. Actual music review: album is exactly like Souljaboytellem.com with a new dance and at extended hour running time. +.5 for pity.

Just like Mike Jones, Soulja Boy is the perfect business man. But incessant self-promotion is replaced with incessant lack of quality in exchange for money. Soulja Boy's getting cash off of the airplay his terrible songs generate, we get it. But the minimalistic snap beats make you facepalm, and Soulja Boy's rapping (at times, droning) is fairly bad enough, and the absence of any good punchlines doesn't help the matter. His debut, although terrible, was still better than this. About the only thing Soulja Boy can do well is dance, so maybe check out a music video of his, mock him, and stop "hating on him" because he "gets money."

Soulja boy is a boy who is hated by the most and loved by the little niggaz who still don't completely understand what music should be like. He is credited for single-handedly killing the modern hip-hop scene and is hated by countless fellow rappers. Soulja's lyrics are horrid, for example, what the fuck means "Superman that ho (whore)"??? Or the amazing:

Soulja boy must be credited though. He is a real business man. He sees very clearly that the thing he is doing is making him lots and lots of cash. All the young kids love him, all the others hate him.
The reason why this album gets a 1.5 from me is because of the sheer hilarity and the amusement Soulja offers. His videos (watch "Turn My Swag On" RIGHT NOW!!) are so incredibly lame that they just force you to laugh at least a little. The lyrics are stupid yes, but Soulja's singing is even funnier. You can probably only decipher about 20% his lyrics while the others get lost in translation. Also, the beats are not too shabby, a good rapper could have easily turned them into some fairly awesome stuff, it's just a shame that Soulja couldn't.

also, oneday I was in wal mart and i saw Soulja boys first album and my friend (thankfully) talked me outta stomping on it.

Absolutely nothing has changed from Soulja's debut album. He still puts almost no effort into it, his lyrics are awful, he's apparently still recording with a laptop microphone, and he didn't even try to come up with a new title.

This is not too terriable, the beats beat the block down. He's rhymes are just lol'able which makes it a better listen. He wants you to laugh with him and at him. Plus he's residing in mississippi which is where I reside so gotta give him some props.
Again don't take serious, just laugh and beat yr block down!!!!

DeAndre Ramone Way maybe an adequate producer but he definately is not a good rapper. Pretty awful from start to finish, but you have to give him credit he does sell records.
