Where the hell did this come from? An incredible indie rock release that has a little something for everyone. Already deserves a spot in my top 10 albums of 2019, and it?s only climbing... how about that somewhat Pixies-esque 6-minute closer made up of fuzzy guitar distortion? It?s just one of many exceptional moments that makes up Four of Arrows. One of the year?s most pleasant surprises that you should listen to if you want to feel warm inside.

We've been saturated by so many artists striving for the same road Pheobe Bridgers took a couple of years back. Somewhere along the line it all became a blur. And then a humble little group named Great Grandpa comes along to eclipse practically everyone who has ever lent their voices to the style since. If these folks don't blow up in the indie scene after this something is terribly, terribly wrong with the music community.

One of the rare instances I saw a highly scored album with less than twenty ratings on the "new releases" page and it actually turned out to be great. Could see this growing on me with time - a contender for Top 10 of the year after one listen.

Four of Arrows clearly has its place among the best Rock albums of the year because it exudes a certain strength and freedom that is difficult to achieve when you try to do it voluntarily. I have a particular affection for the first part of the album which is rather fantastic and endearing, especially for the tracks where the voice of bassist Pat Goodwin (I suppose it's him) is intertwined with that of the incredible performer Alex Menne several times on a few tracks, a bit like a good project which was also released this year Better Oblivion Community Center, even if in the end the fervour 90' s of Four of Arrows is a more beautiful success because musically it's better and more subtle to my taste.

I think even they were surprised with how good this sounds. If you miss the ol' grey-Autumn-afternoon-in-the-suburbs-in-the-90s feeling, this is right up your alley.
